Out learning how to fly on the string road with Stephen and Stewart
Watch out for the ditches!

I was asked " I want to learn what I can about the wind, observing and becoming more aware of it. Do you have any recommendations please? "

I recommend some kids bubbles and play with them in different locations watching how they drift. Also for starters the Kids book by Usborne "weather " after you have a solid base moving onto "Understanding flying weather" by David piggot.
Both availalbe from Flying Fever.

Well Done to everyone! Christine, Neil, Arthur, Alex, Lorna and Stephen more photos on

Finally the weather has broken! A late Summer!
Sunday was a great day with light Southwesterly winds training at Bennan. Six people were on their first day learning to fly - most just met on the course, they were a group of friends by the end of the day.
Quote from Christine, " That was great yesterday. Thank You. It was interesting to find that once strapped in, I had no fear, I just wanted to get up. I suppose that is the fever thing? I really liked that it was tuning in with the wind, becoming aware of its subtleties."
